If you’ve ever ridden or bikepacked through our National Forests or BLM lands, or just dreamt about it, you know the value of our public lands.
And now, despite an overwhelming public response telling the administration to NOT to sell off our public lands when they tried it a few months ago, the U.S. Senate snuck a late-night addition to the budget bill mandating the sell of even MORE public lands than originally planned.
Not authorizing, but mandating!!!
If you’re as angry as I am, JUST CLICK HERE to send a letter directly to your Senators via The Outdoor Alliance’s portal. It takes 30 seconds. They explain what’s at stake quite well there, too, but here are the highlights:
Removes restrictions on which parcels can be sold – they could sell ANY public lands
Mandates selling more than 3 MILLION acres of public land
Prioritizes oil, gas, and timber development on public lands
Reduces protections for recreation, wildlife, and climate
Allows developers to pay to bypass environmental reviews
Then please take 10 more seconds to forward that link to your friends, family, riding buddies, and everyone else you know.
We need to make it clear that our public lands are NOT for sale, and that we expect our elected officials to listen to US and act as stewards of our lands, our rights, and think long term about the value that outdoor recreation brings to our economy and our souls.
