It’s safe to say the Pittsburgh Pirates will want to forget about their four-game series against the Miami Marlins.
In the final game of the series in Miami on Sunday, the game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Miami center fielder Derek Hill was on third.
Pirates relief pitcher David Bednar threw a 92 mph splitter into the dirt. Pittsburgh catcher Endy Rodriguez tried to stop the ball, but it bounced off his knee toward the Pirates dugout. Hill then scored, securing a 3-2 win for the Marlins.
