Yaroslav Amosov is one big step closer to joining the UFC roster.
The former Bellator welterweight champion made quick work of Curtis Millender in the main event of Friday’s Cage Fury FC 140 show in Philadelphia to improve his record to 28-1. It didn’t take long for Amosov to put his trademark wrestling to work and secure a first-round submission via anaconda choke.

In his post-fight interview, Amosov revealed his mouthpiece had the letters “UFC” on it, which comes as no surprise given that 31-year-old has made it clear his goal is to eventually make the walk to the octagon.
His performance Friday left no doubt that he’s ready to jump into the UFC’s welterweight division. Two minutes into his fight with Millender, Amosov scored a takedown and did not relinquish control from there. Despite Millender’s best efforts to defend and work back to his feet, Amosov’s top control was overwhelming and he went on to finish the fight at the 4:17 mark of Round 1.
Amosov bounced back from a third-round knockout loss to Jason Jackson in November 2023, a result that marked the end of his run as Bellator welterweight champion and with the promotion entirely. Prior to that setback, Amosov had won his first 27 pro bouts and successfully defended the Bellator title once. He holds notable victories over Douglas Lima, Logan Storley, Gerald Harris, and Roberto Soldic, among others.
