Carlos Alcaraz's attitude off the tennis court has become the subject of discussion especially after the release on Netflix of the documentary dedicated to him at the end of April. The Spanish champion has already achieved incredible victories for a player of just 22 years old, who became the youngest ever to have conquered Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same season.
The 4-time Grand Slam champion was also world No.1 for 36 weeks, not forgetting the silver medal he won at the Paris Olympics last summer. The current world number 3 is certainly destined to become one of the best ever, but it will not be easy for him to remain at the highest level for as many years as the Big 3 did.
It is no secret that the 22-year-old from Murcia wants to have a normal life and has always expressed the desire that tennis does not become an obligation or a burden for him. The pressure on Carlitos' shoulders has further increased since Jannik Sinner became the best player in the world, with a rise in the last year and a half that has left everyone speechless.
The consistency of the Italian ace was truly incredible and the gap compared to all his rivals in the ATP ranking certifies it.
Piatti on Carlitos' attitude
In a long interview with 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', top coach Riccardo Piatti – who worked with Sinner until 2022 – compared Alcaraz to the young Roger Federer: "Talent is only one component of professional sport, but if you want to get to a certain level and stay there, extreme rigor is necessary.
Carlos seems similar to Federer to me, he was almost 22 years old. Roger was quite undisciplined at the beginning of his career, he had blonde hair, but then he matured and became a legend. Alcaraz loves to live in his own way and is only 22 years old, but it is important that he does not take the wrong path."
The Spaniard will have to defend his title at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon over the next two months.
