Many are eager to know when Lakers star LeBron James will be returning to the court after suffering a groin injury, as LA’s postseason picture is far more positive with him in it.

The latest from Shams:

“Lakers star forward LeBron James has returned to Los Angeles, per medical recommendation, as he continues to progress well from a strained left groin, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Wednesday.”

The Lakers have two games left on their four-game road trip and it won’t be easy. Back-to-back games against the Bucks and recent rivals the Nuggets.

Until Luka Doncic joined the team, the Lakers hadn’t beaten Denver in almost three years.

LeBron’s longtime friend and agent, Rich Paul spoke about the injury this week.

“He knows his body better than anybody, so we kind of have to follow him there,” Paul said on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. “So I won’t put a timetable on it. I’ll let LeBron decide what was to be done there. He has a great trainer and medical staff with the Lakers, and Mike Nancias (Lakers athletic trainer) leads that for him and so, I’ll just be in a lockstep with those guys.”

Against the Celtics, James left the game with 6:44 remaining in the fourth quarter with what the team is said was a left groin strain and did not return.

In the purple and gold’s first game without James, they lost to the Nets and head coach JJ Redick went off in his postgame.

“It was a very low-level communication game for our team,” Redick said. “I don’t think being short-handed is an excuse for how we played basketball tonight.

“… We just wanted to take shortcuts. … We ball-watched all night. … We couldn’t even pass to each other. We couldn’t enter our offense running ball screens at literally halfcourt.”

Hopefully LeBron will be back on the court for the Lakers soon, as his communication on and off the ball is unmatched.
