Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel supports Lewis Hamilton Ferrari’s tough weekend at the 5.451-kilometre Shanghai International Circuit upset both fans and the team. However, in Maranello, no one wants to throw in the towel, and efforts are underway to quickly resolve the rear-end issue that has hindered the SF-25 both in Melbourne and Shanghai. Despite the disqualifications (and the Sprint race win), it became clear that the Red Bull didn’t have the pace to compete with McLaren.
The difficult start to the season doesn’t discourage the drivers, with Lewis Hamilton urging the team not to give up. Sebastian Vettel feels the same way, still believing in an eighth World Championship title for his old rival.
Sebastian Vettel’s words “Perhaps it’s true that the pressures at Ferrari are different, but I believe Lewis is competitive and has very high expectations of himself. So I think he doesn’t focus too much on the noise around, mostly he tries to make things work,” said the German to the BBC (comments made before China). “Let’s see how Lewis will do, I’m crossing my fingers for him to win the championship. Charles is fast too, I know that having raced with him. So I think it’s a strong team, and in the end, many things are needed to fight for the championship in the final races. It will be a tough fight, but I definitely don’t exclude anyone.” – the former Ferrari driver pointed out.
“I’ve raced against Lewis Hamilton for a long time, we get along very well, and right now, he’s by far the most straightforward driver on the grid,” he added. “There’s no need for me to repeat his on-track abilities; I believe the numbers speak for themselves. But it’s nice to see that he’s still on the grid, that he still has this influence, and he uses it in a positive way.” – the four-time Formula 1 world champion concluded.
