Keith Idec reports that Savannah Marshall, fresh off of signing with Most Valuable Promotions this past Monday, will face fellow super middleweight champion Shadasia Green on MVP’s July 11th Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 card at Madison Square Garden.
Though not quite as compelling as it would have been before Green’s (15-1, 11 KO) underwhelming loss to Franchon Crews-Dezurn in 2023, there’s a whole lot to like about this matchup. With Serrano on a lengthy knockout drought, there’s an argument to be made that these two are the hardest punchers in women’s boxing. Marshall (13-1, 10 KO) has the stronger body of work by far, but she’ll have been out of the ring for more than two years by the time they meet, having followed Claressa Shields’ example by dabbling in mixed martial arts.
With this addition, we may be looking at the most stacked all-women card of all time. Five unification bouts, all of which are extremely well-matched on paper. I regrettably have to hand it to Jake Paul.
