LONDON – The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to make history with its first-ever event in Belgium as PFL Europe Brussels takes over the ING Arena on Saturday, July 5. Topping the card will be undefeated hometown sensation Patrick “The Belgian Bomber” Habirora (6-0), who will make his highly anticipated SmartCage main event debut against seasoned English standout Danny “Hot Chocolate” Roberts (18-8) in a thrilling Welterweight Showcase Bout.
Tickets for PFL Europe Brussels are available now at PFL Europe Tickets. The event will stream live on DAZN in Belgium, France, the UK, and Ireland.
With five of his six wins coming via KO/TKO, Habirora’s explosive striking and rising star status have quickly won over fans both locally and abroad. Fighting out of Team Sendo in Brussels, the 25-year-old now faces his toughest challenge yet in Roberts — a 14-fight UFC veteran known for his slick striking, grit, and 13 career finishes. This matchup marks a defining moment in Habirora’s young career as he looks to stay perfect on home soil.
“It’s always been my dream to bring a major global MMA organisation to Belgium. Something that’s never been done before. I’ve always had to fight abroad, carry the flag far from home, and prove myself outside my country. But now, it’s finally time to come back, on 5 July. Time to come home,” said Habirora.
He continued: “This isn’t just another fight. This is something special. For my people. For my country. For every Belgian who’s been supporting me since day one. I’m preparing something incredible for you all. And I truly can’t wait for that day to come because it’s going to be historic.”
The co-main event will feature newly signed French phenom Taylor “Double Impact” Lapilus (21-4) taking on Ali Taleb (12-1), the 2024 PFL MENA Bantamweight Champion. With elite footwork, fight IQ, and dominant recent form, Lapilus faces a dangerous test in Taleb, whose knockout power and aggressive style have made him one of the most feared rising contenders at 135 pounds.
“PFL is making its first ever trip to Brussels, and we are going to put on a show in the ING Arena for the people of Belgium like nothing they’ve seen before,” said PFL CEO Pete Murray. “We have an absolute star on our hands with Patrick Habirora, and his fans are going to erupt when they see him make his first ever walk as the main event. Get your tickets, because we’re going to make history.”
In addition to the main and co-main events, the stacked fight card features elite talent from across Europe and beyond. The night will also include the opening round of the PFL Europe Bantamweight Tournament, with athletes from six different countries vying for a $100,000 grand prize and a path to global stardom.
