On Tuesday, Nico Harrison and Rick Welts held a closed door media roundtable session to discuss the state of the Dallas Mavericks. The session reportedly came at the behest of Patrick Dumont as the Mavericks continue to receive widespread criticism from their own fans for the decision to trade Luka Doncic.
As a condition for the roundtable, media members could publish transcripts of the conversation but they were not allowed to release audio.
Harrison addressed the media the day after the trade was made, but hasn’t spoken publicly again in the subsequent weeks that followed.Â
“My understanding is Nico Harrison didn’t want to do this closed door roundtable,” said Shams Charania. “This was not his idea. This was something that was enforced by their owner Patrick Dumont.”
