Got back home to the Lone Star State and I wanted to further break down what I saw at the 2025 Pangos All-American Camp.

This year’s camp had a solid group of players, and it was a space where a few guys put themselves in another tier nationally. In this article, I highlight how the participants from Texas played in Las Vegas. Let’s dive right in.

Texas Players At Pangos

Bryson Howard, 2026 6’5 SG/SF – Frisco Heritage/Nike ProskillsThe CO-MVP of the Top 30 All-Star Game, Howard, nationally, is one of, if not the biggest riser in 2026. An athletic southpaw who makes plays from everywhere. On the glass, finishing, plus team and individual defender. He was a standout in games where he wasn’t getting the ball thrown to him much, and that spoke louder to me than anything else. He recovered rebounds and ignited breaks, was an adequate off-ball cutter, and made athletic plays in the open court. Check out more Bryson Howard coverage on the “Field Of 68 Next Gen” Pod this week!

Trae Nunn, 2026 6’4 SG/SF – Waxahachie/3D Empire Puma Pro16Didn’t make any of the All-Star Games, but I did think Nunn had a solid week. Nothing spectacular, but I thought he tried to play the right way. Made spot-up threes and finished plays as a shooter. One small detail of his game that I like is his ability to screen. He created open looks for himself as a popper on ball screens, and even when he cuts, he makes contact with the help defender, which gets other people open. Nunn knows how to play, and even though he didn’t get the volume of shots we normally see, I was impressed by how effective he was as a ball-mover, shooter and screener.

Reese Alston, 2027 6’2 PG – Second Baptist/Cooz Elite Puma Pro16Alston was really good this weekend. Behind Howard, in my opinion, he was the best Texas performer from Pangos. Reese was a no-brainer for the Top 30 Game. Shifty with the handle, he has a sizable amount of craft to his game, but one thing to note for him is how he initiates contact to create space on drives with euro steps. He was good at this in Kansas City on Memorial Day Weekend as well, when he guest played for Houston Hoops 17U. Once he creates an angle to attack, he knows when to activate a euro step to either evade the defender or bump him to generate space. It’s impressive to see a rising junior (that is nowhere close to how strong he will be) to do that consistently vs older and bigger players.

Cam Lomax, 6’1 PG – Frisco Heritage/Drive Nation EYBL:Cam was pretty good the first two days of camp. Scored it with solid efficiency and dotted guys in transition and half-court. He took what the defense gave him and was making the right play for the most part. Tuesday, he didn’t play well, but I thought Lomax this week was good in the amount of minutes and touches he got.

Christian Gibson, 2026 6’4 SG – Mayde Creek/Houston Hoops EYBLWe talked about Gibson among the Sunday standouts, and he gave more of the same on Monday which led him to a Top 60 Game selection. Scores it, confident, and loves the pull-up jumper. Shot selection may not always be the best, but you can tell he’s unfazed by heavy contests and has a short memory (hell, maybe no memory) on misses.

Bryson Dixon, 2026 6’4 SF/SG – The Colony/Legynds EYCLPlays so hard and with a mean streak. Dixon made the Cream of the Crop Top 60 Game. Rebounds like someone who is 6’8 instead of 6’4. Dixon was a play-maker in transition, throwing lobs and advancing the ball to the open man. He doesn’t give up on a play on either end, and the combination of all these traits is what makes him a D1 prospect. I feel confident his offensive skill set will come along at some point in his playing career, but when he plays within his strengths, he helps himself a lot.

Dawson Battie, 2027 6’8 PF – St. Marks/Southern Ties Puma Pro 16Dawson made the Top 30 game, and there wasn’t any hesitation from the voting panel that he belonged on there. Made spot-up threes, finished above the rim on put-backs, and showed a fairly quick second leap as well. Dawson continued to show a dependable inside-out game and is someone smart enough to know when and where to execute on size or athletic advantage.
