Nate Diaz continues to find drama wherever he goes.
The fan favorite fighter’s latest exploits saw him travel to Thailand to film an Ultimate Fighter-like reality show alongside UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the production broke down on Day 1 when Diaz got into a scuffle with one of the competitors, leading to a brawl that brought filming to an abrupt end.
On Thursday, Diaz posted a vlog on his YouTube channel showing behind-the-scenes footage of his visit to Thailand, which included his initial meeting with Jones and the melee that soon followed.
“I don’t know,” Diaz said in a pre-show interview alongside Jones. “I don’t know what I got in to. I just came in, they were already going at it with each other. I was on The Ultimate Fighter, so I imagine it’s going to be pretty crazy.”
Though the brawl didn’t result in any significant injuries, that was it for Diaz and his team, who departed the show and went on to continue traveling in Thailand and later Hong Kong.
Diaz spoke briefly about the incident, expressing his disappointment and accusing others of antagonizing him.
“Came out to do a little reality show with Jon Jones,” Diaz said. “I was looking forward to hanging out with Jones and the team and everybody and it didn’t work out because they the opps. We ain’t f*cking with any of them Russians. But anyways, they ain’t f*cking with me, so that’s what it is.”
Diaz, who turned 40 this past April, is currently on a break from competition as he plans his next move. He most recently fought for the UFC in September 2022, scoring a submission win over Tony Ferguson in his final contracted fight for the promotion, then transitioned into pro boxing.
In his debut, Diaz lost a unanimous decision to Jake Paul, but rebounded with a decision win over fellow former UFC contender Jorge Masvidal this past July.
