Good morning, CelticsBlog community!
The end of Celtics’ regular season is just a few weeks away, and we’re launching a new weekly column: a Monday MailBag here on CelticsBlog. I (CelticsBlog beat reporter Noa Dalzell) will answer any and all questions in the comments — every Monday, all year long.
This is my second year on the Celtics beat, and I attend nearly all of the team’s practices, shootarounds, and games — both home and away. I also typically attend off-court events, like Jaylen Brown’s philanthropic work in Oakland and other charity events in and around Boston, and try my best to write stories about some of the less-covered players on the team, whether that’s Torrey Craig, Jordan Walsh, or JD Davison on the Maine Celtics.
I started writing about the team as just something to do for fun, as I worked in a completely different field (I worked on environmental and food law for my first three years out of college). Now, I am incredibly grateful to get to fulfill a childhood dream of covering basketball full-time — writing about the Celtics over here and about the WNBA for SB Nation. I also have a Celtics podcast, You Got Boston, and am part of CLNS Media’s postgame show, The Garden Report.
Feel free to send in questions you’d like to see asked of the players/coaches themselves, questions directed toward me about covering the team, or just questions you’d like to get my perspective on. I know many have gravitated away from social media in recent years due to a myriad of reasons, and the hope is that CelticsBlog can continue to fill that role. I’m typically on here providing game coverage and writing features about various players on the team, but this will be an opportunity to have more of a Q&A-style format. Then, every Monday, I’ll highlight a few of the questions and answers from the previous week.
Got any questions about what it’s like to cover the time? Want a second opinion on your hottest takes and ideas? Looking for clarification for something that’s been confusing you about the team — whether that’s Joe Mazzulla’s substitution patterns, Kristaps Porzingis’ injury status, or something else?
You’ve come to the right place.
The Monday Mailbag will be a regular discussion post here on CelticsBlog, so long as there’s interest, so fire away, all day long!
I’ll see you all in the comment section!
