Mike Woodson has emerged as a leading candidate to become the top assistant for the Sacramento Kings under Doug Christie. Woodson last coached in the NBA in 2021 with the New York Knicks as an assistant coach. Woodson spent the past four seasons as head coach of Indiana University.Â
Woodson has been an NBA head coach previously with the Atlanta Hawks and Knicks.
Christie was elevated to interim head coach of the Kings in December and was retained this offseason. The Kings did not retain Jay Triano as lead assistant.
