A women’s flyweight bout with title picture implications headlines Saturday’s UFC Vegas 107 fight card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
No. 4 ranked Erin Blanchfield (13-2) takes on No. 5 ranked Maycee Barber (14-2) in the fight card’s main event with the winner strengthening their argument to be next in line for a title shot. It’s not the first time they’ve trained to fight each other. It’s a matchup four years in the making.
“Back in 2021, I think Erin and I were scheduled to fight because my original opponent was injured, and I got injured after that,” Barber said during the UFC Vegas 107 Media Day.
“Fast forward to now, I think this is a perfect opportunity to showcase my skills and get a finish. Get a dominant win and continue my win streak and put it at seven and solidify my spot at the belt.”
Barber believes a dominant win on Saturday will put her in line for a title fight.

“I believe I should be next in line for the belt with a dominant performance, a dominant finish and putting my name out there and doing what I need to do,” Barber said.
“My goal in every performance if for people to want – not just this one, but every single one – I want them to be like, ‘damn, she really goes out there and she goes for a finish. She goes out here to hurt these girls.’ I think that’s what makes me dangerous is I don’ just want to go out there and fight these girls and win. I don’t want just a decision win. I want to go out there and hurt these girls and make sure that they know that when they get done with a fight with me they never want to fight me again.”
