Lynn To Start At Front Of 57th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500 – SPEED SPORT

ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico – Tyler Lynn, 24, Mona, Utah, will have the honor of starting up front in the motorcycle category next week at the 57th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500, held in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

This opportunity comes as an extra reward for winning the overall in April at the 38th King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250, where he also claimed the top spot in the Pro Moto Unlimited class, alongside Carter Klein, 20, Agua Dulce, Calif., and Ryan Surratt, 28, Perris, Calif.

The Round 2 of the 2025 SCORE International World Desert Championship will take place from June 4-8 in ‘The Cinderella of the Pacific.’ The race course for pro bikes, Trucks and cars covers 461.03 miles, while the Sportsman classes for motorcycles and cars will race 416.43 miles.

Qualifying for the SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, SCORE Trophy Truck Legend, and the Trophy Truck Spec class is set for next Thursday. Racers who finished the SCORE San Felipe 250 in April will start the SCORE Baja 500 in the same position they finished in that race.

Racers who did not compete in the previous race took part in a random draw this week to determine their starting positions for the SCORE Baja 500.

AMERICA, ASIA, EUROPE AND OCEANIA WILL BE PRESENT

So far, 196 teams are registered for the Round 2 of the 52nd SCORE season, with expectations that more than 220 race teams will take the starting flag in Ensenada. Participants come from 27 U.S. states, the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, host country Mexico, Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, France, India, and New Zealand.

ENTRIES CONTINUE TO GROWThe classes with the most entries include 41 SCORE Trophy Truck, Trophy Truck Spec (SCORE Trophy Truck with spec engines) with 27, Pro UTV Stock with 21, Pro UTV Open with 20, Pro UTV FI teams with 16, and Class 10 with 11.

In bikes, the Pro Moto Limited class leads with 7entries, followed by Sportsman M/C with 6, and Sportsman Quad with 5.

STARTING WITH AN ADVANTAGE

Other racers who will see the green flag wave at the start of the 57th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500, based on their results in the previous race, include Cody Reid, Apple Valley, Calif. (Class 1, No. 168), Bruce Yee, Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico (Class 10, No. 1014), Brock Heger, El Centro, Calif. (Pro UTV Open, No. 1896), Phil Blurton, Auburn, Calif. (Pro UTV FI, No. 2944), Daniel Chamlee, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico (Class 7, No. 700), Ricardo Torres, Lake Elsinore, Calif. (Pro UTV NA, No. 1984), Francisco Beltran, La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico (Pro UTV Stock, No. 3921), Eric Pavolka, Sonoita, Ariz. (Class 1/2-1600, No. 1625), and Ralph Castillo, Eastvale, Calif. (Class 11, No. 1103).

Besides Lynn in Pro Moto Unlimited, other top motorcycle racers starting at the front include Bhaskar Ramani, India (Pro Moto Limited, No. 127x), Jason Alosi, Reno, Nevada (Pro Moto 30, No. 308x), Mike Prunty, Temecula, Calif. (Pro Moto 50, No. 500x), Shane Esposito, Canyon Lake, Calif. (Pro Moto 40, No. 400x), and Matias Cisneros, Argentina (Pro Moto Ironman, No. 752x).

FROM NASCAR AND TELEVISION TO UFC, CELEBS IN THE BAJA 500

Several notable personalities will be participating in the upcoming SCORE Baja 500. Among them is Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, 42, Edgewood, New Mexico, a UFC Hall of Famer who has a strong passion for off-road racing. Cerrone will now seek to enjoy himself outside the mixed martial arts cage by competing in the Pro UTV Stock class, piloting his No. 3902 Can-Am.

Cerrone secured 23 victories during his tenure in the UFC’s lightweight and welterweight divisions, earning widespread admiration for his aggressive fighting style, numerous finishes, and signature cowboy attire upon entering the cage.

Robby ‘Flash’ Gordon, 56, Anaheim, Calif., a former competitor in the IndyCar Series, NASCAR Series, and Dakar Rally, will once again represent the RPM Off Road team from Bristol, Tennessee. Gordon aims to secure a podium finish in the SCORE Trophy Truck following a brief retirement at the 38th King Shocks SCORE San Felipe 250, where he drove the No.5 Chevy Geiser V-16.

Juan Pablo Zurita, 29, Mexico City, is a Mexican actor and influencer making his debut in SCORE with the Honda Racing team in the Pro UTV NA class. Zurita boasts over 33 million followers across his official social media platforms.

Zurita starred in the 2024 Mexican film Una Pequeña Confusion (A Small Confusion) and appeared in the Netflix series Luis Miguel, based on the life of the renowned Mexican singer. He is currently filming the second season of Carpe DM Con Juanpa, a program chronicling his unforgettable experiences and adventures across various countries worldwide.

THE RACE COURSE

The green flag will be waved on the Bulevar Costero of Ensenada, where race drivers will need to travel at normal traffic speed along the Federal Highway 3, until reaching Rancho Nelson, where the timing for competitors will begin. From there, the race course will continue towards the Piedras Gordas ejido, then to Ojos Negros, and further on to 3 Hermanos. After that, the drivers will exit at kilometer 77 on Federal Highway 3, and enter at kilometer 79, heading towards the Santa Catarina ejido.Racers will pass the famous Goat Trail, then take the highway to Valle de la Trinidad, heading towards Mike’s Sky ranch. From there, they will proceed to La Jolla ranch, then take the highway to the San Pedro Martir Observatory, reach Santa Cruz ranch, then Valladares ranch, and the race course will descend to the Santo Domingo stream. From there, they will head towards the Vicente Guerrero (Pena Colorada) Colony, reaching San Quintin, then heading north towards the San Quintin volcanoes area, continuing on to the Ejido Zarahemla, Camalu, San Jacinto, 4 Casas, Punta Colonet ejido, San Antonio del Mar, and Cerro Solo.

The journey will then arrive at the Lopez Rayon ejido, passing the San Vicente stream, and offer a view of the Pacific Ocean near the Erendira ejido. From there, it will cross over to Punta Cabras, pass through the Nativos del Valle ejido, and descend to Santo Tomas, taking the Federal Highway 1 until reaching the Uruapan ejido. After passing the famous hills, the race course will head towards Ojos Negros, and later return to Rancho Nelson, where 7 ramps will be set up in a short course area to cut time for all the race teams. Racers will then drive at moderate speeds along the road back to the Bulevar Costero.

Along the race course, racers will pass through 11 washes, making their way step by step to the checkered flag in Ensenada. The time limit for all competitors to finish the race is 18 hours.

This year’s map is available on the SCORE website, under the SCORE Baja 500 logo at www.SCORE-International.com.

A ONE-OF-A-KIND CELEBRATION IN ENSENADA

Tech Inspection for the SCORE Baja 500 will take place on Friday, June 6, at the Ensenada Bulevar Costero, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, an event expected to gather more than 50,000 people throughout the day.

On Saturday, June 7, the green flag will drop at the Bulevar Costero, with the first motorcycle leaving at 3:30 a.m. PT, while the first 4-wheel vehicle will depart at 9:15 a.m. PT, facing a 461.03-mile race course. All vehicles will have a 18-hour time limit to become official finishers in the elapsed-time race.

The awards celebration will be held on Sunday, June 8, at the Cathedral Room of the Riviera de Ensenada Cultural Center at 12:30 p.m. Qualifying, contingency and the race days will be part of SCORE Live with Rat Sult and Kevin Johnson on SCORE´s official YouTube channel and also its official Facebook account. Tracking of the race vehicles will be available during the race through the SCORE website.

METHOD RACE WHEELS QUALIFYING

SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE Trophy Truck 2WD, SCORE Trophy Truck, SCORE TT Legend and Trophy Truck Spec classes will hold the Method Race Wheels Qualifying session on Thursday, June 5. Starting with at 7 a.m. PT at a private venue, this event is closed to the public.

The Method Race Wheels Qualifying will determine the starting order in those three classes for the race, as this is the second time in history that all SCORE four races will hold a qualifying session.

SCORE Live will air the Method Race Wheels Qualifying through the SCORE website.

Start order for all the other classes in this race will be determined by a random draw for positions within each class.
