Match preview for Liverpool v Crystal Palace
Liverpool will wrap up their memorable 2024-25 Premier League season by welcoming Crystal Palace to Anfield on Sunday.
The newly crowned champions have not managed a victory since clinching the title, but with the FA Cup-winning Eagles in town, there’s still plenty of excitement for fans.
Palace, who will face Liverpool in the Community Shield at the start of next season, are hoping to secure a top-half finish themselves.
Liverpool’s title celebrations have slightly overshadowed their recent form. A defeat to Chelsea and a second-half collapse against Arsenal were followed by a 3-2 loss to Brighton on Monday, despite twice taking the lead.
Sunday’s finale marks a chance for Liverpool to end the season on a high and enjoy a trophy presentation in front of their supporters – something they missed out on during their 2019-20 title win due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, arrive in great spirits after their historic FA Cup triumph over Manchester City. Manager Oliver Glasner’s side followed up that memorable day by beating Wolves 4-2 in midweek, with Eddie Nketiah bagging a brace in a rare start and Ben Chilwell and Eberechi Eze adding to the scoreline.
The Eagles have a knack for causing upsets at Anfield, with their last four league wins against Liverpool all coming away from home, including in this very fixture last season.

Prediction
Liverpool’s slight wobble in form since clinching the title is unlikely to dampen the mood on Sunday, and while Palace are in good form themselves, the absence of key players like Wharton and potentially Guehi could prove decisive.
