LeBron James suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee in the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ Game 5 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves that eliminated them from the playoffs. The injury typically involves a three-to-five week recovery.
James briefly subbed out of the game to have his knee looked at by his longtime athletic trainer Mike Mancias. James played the remainder of the game.Â
James would have been unable to play in Game 6 had the Lakers won Game 5 to extend the series. James averaged 25.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 40.7 minutes over the five-game series.
