If you ask Skip Bayless, he’ll tell you Kevin Durant is the most washed superstar in the NBA.
After the Phoenix Suns’ 125-116 win over the Dallas Mavericks, Durant took to social media to fire back at the former Fox Sports host.

Bayless commented on his podcast, The Skip Bayless Show, suggesting Durant no longer looks like his prime self.
“The more I watch him at age 36, the more he looks mentally semi-retired to me,” Bayless said. “He is participating in a documentary that’s being made about his life and times. And it just feels to me like he is winding down his basketball [career]. And it’s reflecting in the Suns’ win-loss record. Because they started off 8-1 this year. Since then, they have gone 20-31. They are 28-33 overall as we speak.”

Bayless didn’t stop there, adding that Durant’s mentality isn’t the same as when he played for the Golden State Warriors.
“The Phoenix Suns just look like they’re done to me because Kevin looks like he’s on his last mental legs,” Bayless said. “Not his last physical legs, just mental legs. He’s not really into it the way he used to be into it when he went to Golden State.”
Durant, never shying away from voicing his thoughts on social media, fired back with a brutal and sarcastic response on X.
F— it, we’re both washed,” Durant wrote. “It was a great run.”
Is Durant Washed, Like Bayless Said?
Even at 36, Durant remains at the top of his game, averaging 26.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 53.9% from the field. He had a solid performance against the Mavs, putting up 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
He’s still one of the best players in the league, and this season he has been just as efficient as ever.
Despite Durant’s brilliance, the Suns are 30-34 and have underperformed most of the season, especially given that they have two bona fide stars in Durant and Devin Booker.
They sit three games behind the Mavericks, who hold the final play-in spot. If the Suns hope to make the postseason, Durant will need to keep playing at an elite level.
