After suffering multiple injuries, and experiencing a three year layoff, former unified welterweight world champion Keith “One Time” Thurman traveled cross country to Sydney, Australia for his comeback fight, as he knocked out Brock Jarvis (22-2, 20 KOs) in the third round.

The bout took place at the Hordern Pavilion and aired at approximately 6 a.m. ET. Thurman showed that at the age of 36, he still has the IQ, the footwork, speed, and the punching power. Thurman traveled over 9,000 miles with the intent to make a statement, and then move on to Australia’s biggest boxing star.

The Premier Boxing Champions platform launched back in March 2015. With his elite skill set and knockout power, Keith Thurman emerged as one of PBC’s main attractions. Thurman posted signature wins over elite champions such as Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia.

Thurman would suffer his first and only career defeat in July 2019 when he lost to Manny Pacquiao via split decision. As the injuries began to pile up, Thurman was out of action for nearly three years. He made his return to the ring in February 2022 as he scored a unanimous decision victory over Mario Barrios.

Injuries would strike again as Thurman was out of action for another three year period. With hard work and determination, Keith Thurman was able to overcome his physical setbacks and make his debut at junior-middleweight against a formidable opponent.

In the opening round of the No Limit Boxing promoted bout, Keith Thurman was on the front foot, utilizing his feints, and throwing the jab. By using the jab, Thurman was able to land a big right hand. At the midpoint of round one, Brock Jarvis maneuvered inside and landed multiple body shots.

Thurman turned up the aggression early in round 2 as he pressed forward and changed levels with the jab. Thurman switched gears halfway through round two as he used lateral movement while pumping the jab.

At the 1:08 mark of the 3rd round, Thurman landed a big overhand right. He followed it up with a hard left uppercut that sent Jarvis down to the canvas. Jarvis got up, but seconds later he was knocked out when Thurman connected with a thunderous left hook.

Keith Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) got in the ring and did what he was supposed to do. Now Thurman has Australian boxing star Tim Tszyu on his radar, but he’s open to fighting one of the Charlo brothers, Errol Spence Jr, Ryan Garcia, or WBC, WBO, junior-middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora.
