Jean Silva missed weight on his first attempt during the UFC 314 early (and official) weigh ins earlier this morning in Miami (get full results and video here). “Lord” tipped the scale at 147 pounds, one pound over the allowable featherweight limit of 146, and was given an additional hour to cut the remaining weight for his Bryce Mitchell fight.
“It’s not over,” Silva said after missing weight (via Dan Fernandes). “I’m going to come back and make weight. Bryce Mitchell, I’m going to knock you out.”
Silva was able to weigh in (again) roughly 35 minutes later and hit the mark at 146.
Elsewhere on the card, Nora Cornolle came in a couple of pounds over the bantamweight limit at 138 pounds but will not weigh in a second time. Opponent Hailey Cowan breezed through the weigh ins at 136. The bout is expected to proceed as planned with “Wonder” forfeiting a percentage of her purse to Cowan.
