Indiana’s 2025-26 roster will be built this spring by new coach Darian DeVries, who will navigate the transfer portal to assemble his first team in Bloomington.

Inside the Hall will examine some of the prospects linked to the Hoosiers this spring. Today: North Florida forward Josh Harris.

Numbers to know

30 games at North Florida: 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 0.6 assists and 0.5 blocked shots in 22.5 minutes per game. Harris shot 55.7 percent from the field, 33.3 percent on 3s and 69.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Background and potential fit

A class of 2024 recruit, Harris signed with coach Matthew Driscoll and the North Florida Ospreys in November of 2023 out of Pembroke Pines Charter School. Pembroke Pines is located just north of Miami.

The 6-foot-8 forward was not ranked by any of the national recruiting services. Here was Driscoll’s assessment of Harris when the program announced his signing:

“One of the first qualities that stood out about Josh Harris was his simplified approach to the game, unique for someone with such a high level of skill and size. Josh always makes his teams better by keeping the ball hot, sharing it and scoring it from three or at the rim.

“What’s also unique is that he rarely looks hurried. Josh has the same approach to things off the floor, while having a passion to serve and be a daily difference in someone’s life.”

On a North Florida team that finished 15-17 and tied for seventh in the 12-team ASUN Conference, Harris was one of the standout newcomers in the league.

He was a starter all season and in North Florida’s third game of the season, he had 23 points and seven rebounds in a 105-93 win at Georgia Tech on November 10.

In North Florida’s first 11 games of the season, Harris scored in double figures eight times and had four games with 20 or more points.

His best scoring output was a 31-point game against Queen on January 23. He shot 12-for-20 from the field, including a 2-for-3 performance on 3s, to go along with nine rebounds, two assists and a seal in 29 minutes.

Examining his profile on KenPom.com, several numbers stand out as impressive. Harris was the 72nd-best offensive rebounder in the country with an offensive rebounding percentage of 13. In ASUN games, he was the league’s fourth-best offensive rebounder. His offensive rebounding percentage was 13.9.

He was also strong on the defensive boards in ASUN play, ranking eighth in the conference in defensive rebounding percentage at 20.2. He had four games with 10 or more rebounds, including 14 against Warner University on December 5.

Offensively, Harris scored in double figures 17 times in his debut season and shot an efficient 58.4 percent from the field on 300 attempts. He was 11-for-33 on 3s.

Harris earned All-freshman honors in the ASUN and was one of two unanimous selections. Harris declared his intention to enter the transfer portal just over a week after the conclusion of North Florida’s season on March 2.

Currently ranked as a four-star prospect and the 162nd best transfer in the country according to 247Sports, Harris has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He is scheduled to visit Indiana beginning today and has a trip to Miami (FL) on Wednesday.

The Hoosiers have nine commitments from the transfer portal and are looking to add to the frontcourt to solidify the 2025-26 roster.
