Carl Froch spoke exclusively to Action Network and praised Frank Warren despite their ongoing feud, admitting he is the best in the business with the stable he currently has and claimed Warren is ‘running the game’.

I: Frank Warren says you bottled a fight with Joe Calzaghe…
CF: I was mandatory for his belt and the fight wasn’t happening so I went to see Frank Warren to find out if the fight could be done and he wanted to sign me and be my promoter. I didn’t want him to be my promoter, and it never happened, that’s it. In his opinion, when he mentioned Joe Calzaghe, he saw the fear in my eyes and knew I didn’t want the fight. Has he not seen my resume? I feared every fight and was scared every time I walked into a fight to be honest as it is fight or flight, so you get nervous. But I get in there and do the f****** business because I’m a fighter.
When he mentions Calzaghe, maybe I was a little bit nervous that it could be happening, but the fight never happened. He vacated the belt, and I fought for the world title. I have no real problems with Frank Warren, he’s an old promoter from back in the day and has dug himself out of a few holes a couple of times and I have a lot of respect for him. He’s done a lot for the sport, and so much for boxing. He’s got his faults like everybody has but I won’t go into them. The guy is at the top of the game.
I: Do you think he is the best promoter in the world?
CF: He has to be up there because look at where he is now. He’s back on DAZN, signed up lots of fighters, and you have to say he is up there as one of the top three promoters. A lot of people would argue and say he is the best promoter in the business. I’m not going to say he is the best promoter (of all-time) as you have Don King, Bob Arum and Al Haymon in the shadows. Eddie Hearn has done very well too but at the minute, Frank Warren is the man, he’s bossing it. He’s got the next level of heavyweights. He is running the game so let’s give him a pat on the back.
