Iga Swiatek reveals she would like to improve her drop shot and have that as another big weapon but acknowledges that perfecting that particular shot to the Carlos Alcaraz heights won't be easy.
On Wednesday, the second-seeded Pole demolished Jana Fett 6-2 6-2 in her first match of clay in Stuttgart.
After delivering an outstanding performance, Swiatek told the media that she and coach Wim Fissette have been focused on improving her serve placement.
One reporter was curious enough to ask the world No. 2 if she also wanted to get better in making drop shots because she attempted some versus Fett.
"I mean, one. It didn't work, so…" the five-time Grand Slam champion replied.

It is a well-known thing that Alcaraz absolutely loves going for drop shots – he does it very often – and extremely successfully.
While Swiatek hopes she can improve that shot, she highlighted that it's not something on what she has been working since childhood.
“Yeah, that’s the idea, but it’s not like something new. I always wanted to do that, but for sure the technique isn’t perfect yet. If I haven’t been doing that since I’m a kid, like Carlos, for example, then it’s a bit harder to force it, you know, later on. So, yeah, I want to try because this is the only way to improve that and to learn how to do that," the Pole explained.
After splitting with her coach of three years Tomasz Wiktorowski and adding Fissette, Swiatek didn't hide that she felt there were areas that needed to be addressed or improved. Also, Fissette has stated multiple times since their partnership began that he has ideas on how to make the 23-year-old an even better player, especially outside clay courts.
Swiatek and Fissette have yet to win their first title as a duo but that may very easily happen this week.
