AEW star Ricochet lashed out at wrestling journalist Alfred Konuwa for some controversial comments the latter made about Tony Khan. According to the Forbes writer, the “inmates” and the “incels” run the asylum in AEW, which is why things are not going well there.
Ricochet Claps Back at Alfred Konuwa, Calls Him a ‘Cancer’
Konuwa’s post was directed at Khan’s questionable decision to use a new theme music for AEW featuring Mina Shirakawa, only to revert after fans threw a temper tantrum on social media. He bashed Khan’s leadership abilities and pointed to the company’s low point when CM Punk was fired.
Ricochet took notice of Konuwa’s criticism, commenting on X that he feels the internet wrestling community is infected by bad journalists.
“It’s obvious that Alfred is a cancer. It shows that anyone who claims to ‘love’ wrestling then covers anything like he does, does, in fact, NOT love wrestling. But only wants the fame and attention that comes from covering sports. Dude is a lowlife.”
The former WWE star is self-admittedly happier than ever now after signing with AEW. They got the wheels turning for a heel run. People are entitled to their opinions, and Ricochet seems to be the perfect representation of this. Fans have praised the former Intercontinental Champion’s innate ability to get under others’ skin.
Whether his fiery presence on social media is part of a bigger strategy remains unclear.
Booker T Comments on the Controversial Ricochet Incident
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke in-depth about the social media fight between Ricochet and NXT’s Je’Von Evans on his podcast “The Hall of Fame.”
“Ricochet [is] 40 years old, you know what I mean? I think Ricochet missed the point, you know, as far as you know, what the question was,” Booker said. “I just think, man, that’s where we are in the business, where we got to try to bring somebody down before trying to lift somebody down.”

The veteran added, “Don’t go down to somebody else’s level. If you do go down to somebody else’s level, just go down to bring them up to your level; do that!”
Ricochet’s attitude has definitely turned heads, but so far, it seems to be working. Whether it leads to a world title in AEW is still up in the air.
