MIAMI, FLORIDA – GLORY, the world’s leading kickboxing organization and one of the world’s top combat sports properties, has announced today that it will be joining forces with Betr Holdings Inc. (Betr), a leading sports gaming and media company, to launch GLORY Underground: Powered by Betr—a groundbreaking, invite-only kickboxing event series poised to revolutionize the sports entertainment landscape. The inaugural event of this exciting new series will be held at Betr’s headquarters in Miami, Florida on May 1, 2025, and will be live-streamed for free worldwide on YouTube. The partnership marks a bold step forward for GLORY as it leans into Betr’s cutting-edge approach to original content creation and audience engagement. The invite-only spectacle will host approximately 100 elite attendees, including influencers, athletes, and celebrities. This dynamic event will be followed by the second installment of the partnership series, set to take place in late summer 2025. The event dates and the full five-fight fight card featuring some of the world’s best stand-up strikers and newly signed GLORY talent will be announced soon. Headlining the first of these high-octane events is a highly anticipated champion vs. champion rematch with GLORY welterweight world champion Chico Kwasi (44-5-1, 23 KO) set to defend his title against GLORY lightweight world champion Tyjani “The Wonderboy” Beztati (27-4-1, 9 KO). The two 27-year-old fighters last faced off at GLORY 96 in October 2024 in a thrilling welterweight world championship encounter that resulted in a draw, leaving fans eager for a definitive conclusion to their rivalry. As Kwasi and Beztati step into the ring once again, the stakes have never been higher, and viewers can anticipate an unforgettable battle to determine who will emerge as the undisputed champion. Beztati made history when he signed with GLORY at just 18 years old, becoming the youngest fighter ever to join the world’s leading stand-up fighting organization. Over the past decade, he developed his skill set while constantly competing against elite fighters. The Dutch Moroccan finally realized his dream by claiming the GLORY lightweight world title with a victory over America’s Elvis Gashi at GLORY 79 back in September 2021. Since then, he has defended his title five times, making him one of the most successful champions in GLORY history. Now ‘The Wonderboy’ is aiming to make more history by winning a second title and joining the likes of Alex Pereira and Robin van Roosmalen as multi-division world champions in GLORY. Kwasi is a product of the world-renowned Mike’s Gym in Amsterdam, and after dominating & entertaining on the regional scene in Europe, he joined GLORY in 2023. After registering three straight victories in his debut year in GLORY, he then challenged and defeated former longtime champion Endy Semeleer to capture the GLORY welterweight world title at GLORY 91 in Paris. Since then, he has defended his belt twice, including the draw with Beztati and, most recently, a world-class decision win over Teodor Hristov in February of this year. ‘Luffy’ is now chasing his third title defense, which would put him level with Cedric Doumbe, Nieky Holzken, & Semeleer for most consecutive welterweight title defenses. Betr creators Derek “Betr Derek” Sullivan and Joey “Betr JoJo” Mauriello will lead the promotion of the upcoming Miami event through an exciting social-led content series. The series will follow Derek and JoJo as they travel to the Netherlands, Glory’s heartland, to train with fighters and uncover the sport’s soul ahead of fight night. Viewers can expect a thrilling and comedic behind-the-scenes journey filled with dramatic moments, intense training, and unique coaching styles, building up to an unforgettable showdown. “GLORY is redefining fight sports by delivering what fans want. By partnering with Betr and their family of creators we will bring the most compelling and exciting bouts directly to the fans,” said Marshall Zelaznik, GLORY CEO. “Fans today are engaging and discovering content through outlets other than traditional networks. These social, interactive, and influencer communities reach at the core of the combat sports fanbase. We’re proud to be the first globally recognized sports brand to deliver our core product through this model – we will meet our fans where they live and engage through the voices they trust. This is the first time a brand as big as GLORY will work in this way with this new form of media and we are proud to kick this strategy off with an innovative & forward-thinking group like Betr.” “GLORY and Betr are coming together to deliver an entirely new kind of combat sports experience. Through our combined efforts, we’ll create shareable moments that will disrupt the traditional sports media model and take combat sports to new heights,” said Joey Levy, Betr CEO. “This partnership is about more than just putting on amazing fights—it’s about creating a new kind of sports media experience, one that resonates with Gen Z fans and taps into the digital zeitgeist. We look forward to growing GLORY’s presence in the US market, leveraging our creator network, and delivering viral content that’s both authentic and unforgettable.”
