When a veteran has had All-Star caliber seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, they will always be remembered for what they did wearing Dodger Blue, even if it was just four seasons.

Yasmani Grandal was the Dodgers’ catcher from 2015 to 2018.
As he nears the end of an incredible career, Grandal has reportedly turned down an offer from the Atlanta Braves. The backstop is hoping for another opportunity in MLB to extend his baseball career, but retirement is on the table if the deal doesn’t come to fruition.
In his span in Los Angeles, he was selected to his first All-Star game and helped the Dodgers secure four division titles and two National League pennants.
L.A. has a long history of productive catchers and Grandal was no different. In those four seasons, he batted .238/.337/.453 with an OPS of .790.
He added 89 home runs and 245 RBIs during that time. His .247 batting average in 2017 is still the highest it has been at the season’s end in his career.
In 32 postseason games for the Dodgers, Grandal hit two home runs, brought in six RBIs, and had eight October hits.
If this really is the end of the road for Grandal, he has enjoyed a productive, 13-year career. He would potentially end his MLB tenure with two All-Star nods, 194 home runs, 592 RBIs, and a career slash line of .236/.345/.424 with an OPS of .769.
Currently at No. 18 all time in terms of home runs by catchers, Grandal is only 23 away from cracking the top-15 list at Benito Santiago’s 217 career dingers.
Although it was four short seasons, the pennants, division titles, and Dodger Stadium memories Grandal helped make will be remembered the most by fans.
