Florida beat Houston 65-63 to win the NCAA men’s basketball championship on Monday night.
Florida came back from a 12-point deficit to secure the title, their third since 2006.
Walter Clayton Jr. finished with 11 points and seven assists and was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. Clayton did not score his first points of the game until the second half.
“Our motto is, we all can go,” Clayton said. “We’ve got a team full of guys that can go. It ain’t just about me. My team held me down until I was able to put the ball in the basket. Shout out to them boys.”
The 39-year-old Todd Golden is the youngest head coach to win a title since Jim Valvano in 1983.
Will Richard lead Florida with 18 points.
L.J. Cryer lead all scorers with 19 points.
