Olympiacos wing Evan Fournier helped lead his team to a 3rd Place EuroLeague finish against archrival Panathinaikos. Fournier is now looking forward to the end of the Greek League Finals, and then he’ll decide about playing for France at EuroBasket this summer.
“First of all, I’m not thinking about it if I’m being honest because the season is not over. Sometimes I do think about it but I never come up with a straight answer. Because the truth is I’m mentally here.,” Fournier said. “Physically, I’m fighting some things. If I feel better and 100 percent and mentally I’m good, yes I’ll go to the EuroBasket. If I’m not feeling good, then I won’t.”
The veteran wing said he’s not physically used to playing this deep into a season. That’s impacting Fournier’s thinking about the offseason in a different way than he used to.
“The furthest I’ve been into the NBA playoffs is second round. Usually I’m in vacation by May 1st,” Fournier said. “So I have more time to heal, rest up, prepare my body for the next season. I have one month less at least 1748269592. Its going to be a different summer. The season is not over so I’m not really thinking about that.”
