Plenty of big games were on around Europe on Saturday afternoon and our first champion of the top five leagues was crowned.

Paris Saint-Germain wrapped up the Ligue 1 title by beating Angers, allowing them to focus their full attention on the Champions League.

Elsewhere Inter Milan faced Parma in a big Serie A match while rivals AC Milan hosted Fiorentina.

In Germany Bayer Leverkusen were looking to keep the gap between themselves and Bayern Munich down.

Read on to see how the games unfolded.

PSG sealed their fourth straight Ligue 1 title with a 1-0 victory over Angers at the Parc des Princes.

Desire Doue’s second-half strike was enough to secure the win, maintaining their unbeaten run and placing them 24 points ahead of their nearest rivals with six matches remaining.

The hosts dominated possession from the outset, boasting over 90% of the ball in the early stages, but Angers proved stubborn opponents.

Gianluigi Donnarumma remained largely untested, while PSG were continually frustrated in front of goal, with Angers keeper Yahia Fofana impressing — including a fine save to deny Vitinha’s long-range effort before the break.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia cut inside on the left and floated a pinpoint cross to the far post, where Doue met it with a cool volley into the bottom corner.

Angers had their moments, notably through Esteban Lepaul, who was involved in a couple of penalty appeals, both waved away. Substitute Nuno Mendes had a late chance, but Fofana was again equal to it.

Inter Milan surrendered a two-goal lead as Parma fought back to earn a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, blowing the Serie A title race wide open in the process.

The Nerazzurri looked set to move six points clear at the summit after a dominant first half. Matteo Darmian fired home a rebound to open the scoring in the 15th minute, and Marcus Thuram doubled the advantage just before the break with a fortunate lob over Chijioke Suzuki.

However, the second half told a different story. Parma manager Cristian Chivu made inspired changes at the interval, and substitutes Adrian Bernabe and Jacob Ondrejka turned the tide. Bernabe pulled one back with a fine strike from the edge of the area on the hour mark, before Ondrejka’s deflected effort levelled the match in the 69th minute.

Inter, clearly rattled, failed to mount a coherent response, and Parma nearly snatched victory at the death when Mateo Pellegrino slid a golden chance wide.

AC Milan produced a spirited fightback at San Siro to earn a 2-2 draw with Fiorentina, despite falling two goals behind inside the opening 10 minutes.

The visitors struck early, capitalising on Milan’s shaky start when Malick Thiaw turned Albert Gudmundsson’s low cross into his own net after just seven minutes.

Moments later, Moise Kean doubled the lead with his 17th goal of the campaign, tapping home from close range after an unselfish assist by Dodo.

Milan found a lifeline through Tammy Abraham midway through the first half. The striker finished coolly after combining well with former Chelsea teammate Christian Pulisic.

The Rossoneri were nearly pegged back again before the break, but Luca Ranieri’s powerful strike was ruled out following a foul on Pulisic in the build-up.

The hosts improved significantly after the interval, with Luka Jovic capitalising on a defensive lapse to slot past David De Gea and level the match on 64 minutes.

Dodo thought he had won it late for Fiorentina with a volleyed finish, only for VAR to intervene and rule the goal out for offside – the second time the Viola were denied.

FC Heidenheim 0-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen snatched a late win over FC Heidenheim with a 1-0 to keep their Bundesliga title hopes alive, thanks to a stoppage-time strike from Emiliano Buendía.

In a match where clear-cut chances were limited, Heidenheim showed plenty of spirit but lacked clinical edge.

Marvin Pieringer was heavily involved for the hosts, registering multiple attempts, including a close-range effort that flew over in the 88th minute. Benedikt Gimber also came close in the first half, rattling the crossbar from close range following a corner.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, gradually gained control in the second half. Jonas Hofmann, introduced in the 85th minute, was key in the goal. In the 91st minute, he set up substitute Buendia, who rifled a low right-footed effort from outside the box into the bottom corner to secure all three points.
