The Los Angeles Dodgers designated reliever Chris Stratton for assignment earlier this week. Once he cleared waivers, he was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Stratton then rejected the assignment and elected free agency. On Friday, the right-hander re-signed with the Dodgers as a free agent and joined the team in St. Louis for the start of their six-game road trip.
On Monday, the Dodgers made a one-for-one trade with the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers acquired right-handed pitcher Will Klein and sent minor league pitcher Joe Jacques to Seattle. In order to make room on the roster for Klein, the Dodgers DFA’d Stratton.
Stratton appeared in two of the three games against the New York Yankees after signing with the team just a few days prior. The right-hander five strikeouts and allowing two earned runs across three inning, resulting in a 6.00 ERA throughout his short tenure with the Dodgers.
Now, Stratton returns to the Dodgers bullpen as the team continues adding reinforcements to a depleted pitching staff. There are currently 15 Dodgers pitchers on the injured list.
Stratton will likely be deployed from the bullpen in the coming days as the Dodgers take on a red, hot Cardinals team and division rival San Diego Padres.
