Fight fans witnessed an unusual and very suspect finish last night (Sat., May 17, 2025) at XCC 2 in Vienna, Austria, after a “punch” put a fighter to sleep just six seconds into the first round.
Few fight fans even had access to the XCC 2 card so we’re pretty confident this controversial stoppage hasn’t been seen by many. It’s questionable to say the least and a six-second exchange that certainly smells like a “dive” was taken. It will be up to fans and whatever athletic commission oversaw the event to make that decision.
The fight in question was a welterweight clash between Turkey’s Burak Kizilirmak and Brazilian journeyman Delberty Lamark. As mentioned, the fight lasted about six seconds in total. The moment the action started both fighters moved to the center of the cage. Punches were thrown, but nothing looked to land at all. Still, Lamark instantly toppled over landing awkwardly on the canvas as Kizilirmak moved in to land one more punch before the referee stepped in.
Check out the video highlights in the above player. I’ve watched this footage more than 20 times and still can’t seem to figure out what connected to make this fighter go to sleep. Can you?
Kizilirmak, who was coming off a knockout loss of his own his last time out, was awarded the early TKO victory. It’s unknown at this time if this fight will be looked into or investigated in some sort, but it’s pretty obvious that something looked off.
