Davidson transfer Reed Bailey, a first-team All-Atlantic 10 selection last season, announced his commitment to Indiana today.
The 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward has one season of eligibility remaining. A product of Brewster Academy, Bailey is a native of Harvard, Massachusetts. Out of high school, he was ranked the No. 188 player by the 247Sports Composite and was considered a three-star prospect.
Bailey played in 33 games last season at Davidson and averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 33.3 minutes per game. He ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring and 13th in rebounding.
Bailey had the highest usage rate in the Atlantic 10 and shot 47.9 percent on 2s, 41.5 percent on 3s and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
He had the sixth-highest assist rate in the Atlantic 10 – 27.3 percent in league games – and drew 6.3 fouls per 40 minutes in conference games, per KenPom.com. That ranked first in the conference. He led the Atlantic 10 in free throws attempted and made.
Bailey had two games with 30 or more points, 12 games with 20 or more points and 28 games in double figures. He scored a career-high 32 points in a 72-66 win at Richmond on February 8. In a 92-90 loss at Rhode Island on January 18, he nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 30 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds.
In addition to being named first-team All-Atlantic 10, Bailey earned the Chris Daniels Most Improved Player award. Davidson finished the 2024-25 season with a 17-16 record and 6-12 mark in conference play.
As a sophomore at Davidson, he averaged 12.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in the 2023-24 season. In his freshman season with the Wildcats, Bailey averaged 5.5 points and 2.8 rebounds.
Over 97 career games at Davidson – all starts – Bailey has averaged 12.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and two assists in 28.2 minutes per game. He’s a career 76.9 percent free-throw shooter.
