Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts is dealing with a fractured toe and remains “day to day,” per manager Dave Roberts.

Betts is not expected to return to the Dodgers starting lineup until next week, but there is no firm date for his return. The good news is Roberts doesn’t think Betts’ ailment will require a stint on the injured list.
Betts has a small fracture at the tip of his fourth toe on his left foot. He has had difficulty putting on a shoe the last couple of days.
The Dodgers superstar previously missed the Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs because of a stomach illness that caused him to lose nearly 20 pounds. He also missed an additional game against the Detroit Tigers during the Dodgers’ domestic opening weekend as he returned from the illness.
Since then, Betts has played in 53 of the Dodgers’ 56 games this season until Friday’s absence from the lineup. He will miss the three-game series against the New York Yankees.
Betts is hitting .254 with eight home runs, 31 runs batted in and an OPS of .742 this season. The Dodgers will be without one of their three MVPs over the weekend.
