First clubs qualified for the 2029 Club World Cup
Al-Ahli was the first team to book its place in the 2029 Club World Cup after winning the 2024–2025 AFC Champions League. The Saudi side defeated several Asian powerhouses on their way to the title, showcasing the club’s rapid footballing rise and establishing itself as a high-level contender on the world stage.
Cruz Azul clinched their ticket to the 2029 tournament after a dominant performance in the CONCACAF Champions Cup final, defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps at Mexico City’s Estadio Olímpico Universitario. This marks the Mexican club’s second appearance at the global stage, following their debut back in 2014.
Paris Saint-Germain earned their spot in the 2029 Club World Cup after a resounding victory over Inter Milan in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final, held in Munich. The win not only delivered PSG their first European crown but also secured their place in the FIFA tournament, marking a historic milestone for French football.
Pyramids FC pulled off one of the surprises of the year by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 3–2 on aggregate to win the CAF Champions League and secure their ticket to the 2029 Club World Cup. The Egyptian side becomes the first confirmed African representative for the competition.
