The Boston Celtics broke the record for most threes in a season during their 123-103 win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
They surpassed the Warriors’ mark of 1363 threes from two years ago after Payton Pritchard’s made three in the second quarter.
The Celtics, who finished 14-of-39 from three in the game, have now made 1370 threes on the season.
“We’ve got a really good team,” said Jayson Tatum after the game. “A talented group of guys. When we play to our strengths, everyone, for the most part, we space the floor and [everyone] is a threat from behind the line. It’s a credit to guys for working on their game. It’s what makes us special.”
The Celtics are also third in league history for most threes in a season, finishing with 1351 last year.Â
