Riyadh Season’s Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford megafight is now officially official, even moreso than before. Turki Alalshikh announced today that the show will air Saturday, September 13th on standard-issue Netflix.
The original announcement claimed they’d duke it out at Allegiant Stadium, but the current one just says “from Las Vegas,” so presumably they haven’t ironed that one out yet. All four super middleweight belts will be on the line, as Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KO) reclaimed the IBF title with a better-soon-forgotten decision over William Scull last month.
“I’m super happy to be making history again and this time it will be broadcast on Netflix,” Alvarez told Netflix. “On Sept. 13, I’m ready to show once again that I am the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
“My perfect record speaks for itself,” says Crawford. I am the best fighter in the world and no matter the opponent or weight class, I have always come out on top.”
No undercard news has yet emerged, but y’all will be the first to know.
