Immediately following Caleb Plant’s unexpected loss to Armando Resendiz tonight on PBC on Prime, Jermall Charlo talks about his thoughts on what transpired and how that obviously affects their planned fight that was set up to happen next. So when Charlo was asked about Plant losing to Resendiz in this stay-busy fight and whether or not he still wants to fight him next, here’s what he had to say.
“Man, we got to go back to the drawing board with this one,” Charlo said. “Caleb Plant dropped the ball. He looked out of shake, he couldn’t have fought me tonight. Yeah, I wish [our fight] would’ve happened [tonight], to answer your question. But I’m not here to bash nobody, talk down on nobody, but yeah, Caleb Plant dropped the ball on this one.
“I want my lick back. I still want my lick back, I don’t care if he got the belt or not. We can make a belt, they can make a belt, somebody make a belt. I want my lick back.”
Charlo scored a sixth round TKO win over Thomas LaManna as the co-feature to Plant’s fight with Resendiz, holding up his end of the bargain.
