Caitlin Clark is officially back.

After missing five games with a strained left quad, Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark has been cleared to return to the lineup this Saturday in a headline clash against the undefeated New York Liberty.

The Fever announced Friday afternoon that Clark is good to go.

Since May 26, Clark has been sidelined, though not silent. The reigning Rookie of the Year was basically the Fever’s most animated assistant coach while recovering.

She originally tweaked the injury in the May 24 game against these same Liberty, logging 38 minutes before an MRI revealed the strain.

Clark had dealt with a minor leg issue earlier in the preseason, but Fever head coach Stephanie White made it clear that this quad injury was “not related to the leg issue that Clark dealt with during the preseason.”

Clark’s return also brings back the league’s most electric stat line: 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and nearly 3 threes per game. She’s one of the most dynamic dual threats in the W, and now, she’s rested.

Add to that her fierce loyalty to Indiana, where she’s publicly said she wants to spend her entire career:

“Ty [Haliburton] and I would both tell you this is where we both hope to stay the rest of our careers,” Clark told reporters. “People are like, ‘It’s a small market.’ But no, that’s what makes it fun. These people, this is what means the world to them.”

The Liberty are rolling, sitting atop the East in Commissioner’s Cup standings at 3-0, while Indiana (4-5 overall) is still in the hunt at 2-1. The Fever trail by just +58 in point differential, and a win Saturday could blow that race wide open.
