Jack Draper notched another impressive victory at the Madrid Masters! The Briton faced Matteo Arnaldi in the quarter-final and produced a dominant 6-0, 6-4 triumph in an hour and 17 minutes. Thus, Jack will compete in his second Masters 1000 semi-final.
A left hander outplayed his rival in every department. Draper left Arnaldi far behind in the opener and produced a bagel. World no. 6 served well in the second set and provided a break in the middle of the set to seal the deal and remain on the title course.

Jack won 22 points more than Matteo. The Italian served at only 46% and dropped half of the points in his games. He played against ten break points, defending six but experiencing four breaks to end his run in the last eight.
Draper dropped ten points in eight service games, avoiding break points and mounting the pressure on the other side. The Briton tamed his strokes nicely and landed 17 winners and 15 unforced errors. He left his rival on a 15-25 ratio, with Arnoldi missing from both wings.

Jack forged a 15-7 lead in service winners and led 35-22 from the baseline. Matteo sprayed a forehand error in the first game of the encounter and experienced an early break. A left-hander cemented it with a service winner in game two.
World no. 6 landed a forehand winner in the third game for break points and welcomed the rival's backhand error for another break and a 3-0 lead. Arnaldi netted a backhand in the fifth game, suffering another break and falling 5-0 behind.

Draper served for the opener in game six and painted a forehand down the line winner for a hold at love and 6-0 in 25 minutes. Matteo faced a break point in the third game of the second set and defended it with a volley winner.
Jack held at love in the fourth game with a serve & volley combo and locked the result at 2-2. The Italian sprayed a drop shot error in the fifth game and offered his rival a break point. Draper converted it with a backhand attack, opening a set and a break advantage.

A left-hander closed the sixth game with a service winner and maintained the advantage. Arnaldi defended two break points in the seventh game and remained within one break deficit. World no. 6 fired an ace in the eighth game and opened a 5-3 lead.
Matteo served to stay in the match in the ninth game and closed it with a service winner to extend the battle. However, Jack held at 15 with an unreturned serve at 5-4, moving over the top and sailing into the last four.
