Gedeon Promotions staged another successful Pro-Am in Cleveland, Ohio, Saturday night at their mainstay venue, The LaSalle Theater.

Capitalizing on an action-packed lineup in the main event, Cruiserweights Jordan Gruszewski (4-0-1, 3 KOs) of Cleveland and Indianapolis native Joel Mutombo (8-0-1, 6 KOs) battled to an 8-round draw.

Trainer Bryan Gedeon and fans in attendance would agree that this was the obvious fight of the night.

Non-stop action from start to finish gave the fans a view of two combatants willing to risk their “0” early in their careers.

The judges’ tallies read as 77-75 for Mutombo, 78-75 for Gruszewski, and 76-76, making it a split draw.

“Gruszewski- Mutombo fight was by far the best match up the city of Cleveland has had in quite some time,” said promoter Allegra Gedeon.

The Co-Main Event was a 10-round super middleweight bout as local favorite Nick Rezek (5-1, 2 KOs) of Cleveland earned a clear-cut unanimous decision over Kentucky’s Joe Thompson (5-8, 3 KOs).

All 3 scores were 99-91.

Debuting junior welterweight Khalil Osaze (1-0, 1 KO) made short work of Assan Tucker (0-5) of Omaha.

Osaze, coming off a solid amateur career, was explosive from the opening bell, finishing his opponent in the first of a scheduled four. The stoppage came at 2:02 of the opening stanza.

Female middleweight Crashonna Wynn(2-1) won by TKO in the second round over Anari Matthews (0-3) of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Wynn, now a middleweight, came in 17 lbs heavier than her last fight here at the LaSalle Theater, making it her second win in a row.

The pro portion started with an exciting 4-round fight between Devin Young (2-0, 1 KO) of Cleveland defeating Leonard McDonald III (0-1) of Pontiac, MI by unanimous decision.

The evening started with 9 exciting amateur fights.

The lone open division fight featured Brady Stone winning by unanimous decision and improving to 10-1.

Charlie Williams, now 3-0, was named the “Leslie Washington Fighter of the Night” (in memory of recently deceased USA Boxing official) for the amateur portion of the card.

Promoter Allegra Gedeon was thrilled with the entire show.

“The card was great from start to finish. The amateurs started the night off with a bang. The first 3 pro fights were exciting with 2 of them ending by stoppage. Next came the 10 round match up that went the distance and didn’t have a dull moment.”

“Of course the main event was the best fight and we are proud of both guys for taking the risk at this stage in their careers.”

Gedeon Promotions’ next Pro-Am will take place on July 19th at the LaSalle Theater.
