IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois will leapfrog Joseph Parker (despite this decree) and rematch WBA (Super), WBO and WBC titleholder Oleksandr Usyk on Sat., July 19, 2025 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Dubois and Usyk came face-to-face earlier today across the pond with “Dynamite” blowing his fuse and two-handing the Ukrainian “Cat.” Once security rushed to intervene, Dubois slithered away and called Usyk a “p—sy.”
“That p—sy knocked you out with a jab,” one fan responded on social media, referring to Usyk’s ninth-round finish over Dubois back in summer 2023. “Dynamite” continues to peddle the mild controversy that followed a fifth-round low blow.
Parker will remain the division’s mandatory challenger.
“Having carefully considered the arguments presented by all relevant parties regarding the WBO mandatory, it is the WBO’s position that the best interests of boxing and, most importantly, the fighters themselves are best served by allowing the unification bout to proceed prior to discharging the mandatory obligation,” WBO President Gustavo Olivieri posted on social media.
“In doing so, the division will once again crown an undisputed champion, elevating the sport and its athletes to the highest standard,” Olivieri continued. “It is further clarified that Joseph Parker’s mandatory status is upheld, and he remains next in the rotation system following the unification.”
