The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team made a dazzling return to Saudi Arabia ahead of the highly anticipated Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, kicking off a week of high-octane celebration and inspiration. In partnership with title sponsor Aramco, the team launched a series of immersive events designed to fuel excitement and ignite passion for motorsport across the Kingdom—and beyond.
The festivities were led by Jessica Hawkins, Aston Martin Aramco’s Driver Ambassador. She made history last year as the first woman to drive a modern ground-effect Formula 1 car, a feat that continues to inspire and pave the way for future generations. This year, she embarked on a symbolic journey across Saudi Arabia in the AMR23, further cementing her legacy in the sport. Her route included iconic stops such as Ithra—Aramco’s cultural beacon in Dammam—a newly opened Aramco premium retail station. It concluded with a stunning arrival at the legendary Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
The spotlight shifted at Aramco headquarters to Fernando Alonso, who unveiled a custom helmet with a uniquely Saudi flair. Designed in collaboration with Sara Turkestani, a rising young artist from the Kingdom, the helmet will debut on track during the Grand Prix. Turkestani won a nationwide competition to create a Saudi-inspired design, blending desert landscapes and vibrant colours with Formula 1’s cutting-edge energy. As part of her prize, she’ll enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with the team at the Jeddah circuit.
Fernando Alonso shared:“It’s always special to race in Saudi Arabia, especially as it’s home to Aramco. The dunes and warm tones of the winning helmet reminded me of the breathtaking landscapes I saw during the Dakar Rally. I’m proud to wear this design and help highlight the incredible talent from the Kingdom.”
Rania Biltagi, Aramco’s Global Head of Sponsorships, added:“This journey across Saudi Arabia reflects the power of our partnership with Aston Martin Aramco. Together, we’re not just making history but helping shape the future by inspiring young minds through STEM and motorsport.”
Jessica Hawkins reflected:“Driving the AMR23 again was an amazing experience, especially in Saudi Arabia. Inspiring the next generation of engineers, drivers, and leaders is at the core of what I do, and it’s an honour to support Aramco’s Generation 3 mission.”
Sara Turkestani said:“This competition was a dream come true. I poured my heart into the design, combining Saudi heritage with modern Formula 1 flair. Seeing Fernando Alonso wear it on race day is beyond anything I imagined.”

The entire activation powerfully expresses the Generation 3 initiative—a cornerstone of the Aston Martin Aramco and Aramco partnership. This initiative, with its focus on nurturing the next wave of talent in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), is not just about inspiring young minds but about providing them with the opportunities they need to succeed. It aims to develop tomorrow’s engineers, designers, and innovators, ensuring a bright future for both STEM and motorsport.
As Saudi Arabia cements its place on the global motorsport map, the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team’s presence is a vivid testament to a shared vision: empowering the next generation to dream big, drive fast, and shape the future.
