WWE WrestleMania 41 has an action-packed card for this weekend. While many storylines will reach a climax, some might continue forward and unfold more drama at the following premium live event. And recently, WWE chief content officer Triple H confirmed that the PLE taking place after WrestleMania will be Backlash.
Randy Orton Advertised in the WWE Backlash 2025 Poster
On Tuesday, April 15, Triple H announced from his X account the date, time, and venue for the upcoming Backlash premium live event. He disclosed that WWE will broadcast the event live from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
“For every #WrestleMania moment… there is a backlash.
“#WWEBacklash is live from Enterprise Center in St. Louis on May 10th.”
It will be the 20th WWE Backlash and feature matches based on the fallout from WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. Triple H also shared the official poster for the premium live event, which featured 14-time WWE World Champion Randy Orton’s face surrounded by snakes.
The last time a Backlash event took place in Missouri was in 2002, when it was held at Kemper Arena in Kansas City. The Cerebral Assassin and Hollywood Hulk Hogan headlined that event. They wrestled for Hunter’s Undisputed WWF Championship.
What Is In Store for Orton at WrestleMania This Year?
Orton started a rivalry with Kevin Owens in October last year after the latter turned heel and attacked Cody Rhodes. They feuded for a few months, and WWE even scheduled them to face each other at Crown Jewel in November 2024, but the match never officially started as they brawled before the bell rang.
In the leadup to The Show of Shows, the Apex Predator challenged the Prizefighter for WrestleMania 41, and the match was made official. But on the April 4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Owens revealed that a legitimate neck injury would require surgery and keep him out. This news upset Orton, and he RKO’d SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis during the show.
The following week, the Legend Killer declared he wanted to face Aldis at WrestleMania 41. On the same night, he teamed with LA Knight to face Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga. He and Sikoa ended up fighting backstage before the match ended.
It’s hard to imagine Orton missing his 20th appearance at WrestleMania. But with the event just days away, it seems likely he will face either Aldis or Sikoa in a singles match at The Show of Shows — or maybe Triple H has a far more exciting option in mind.
