I believe this is actually similar to what we predicted not that long ago when we looked at the run in.
And so far, those predictions are on course. So will they stay on course? If they do, Chelsea will end the season with 64 points, but will that be enough to secure Champions League football?
Mauricio Pochettino finished in 6th place last season with 63 points. Really, if we are a project, then we must at least be looking to improve season upon season. But right now, I’m not sure that we will end the season having improved, at least factually in terms of league position and points.
We could end the season with silverware though, which would be great and an improvement on past recent seasons. But there is also a harsh reality there as well and although winning any competition is not ever going to be easy, on paper Chelsea should be winning this one every time when you look at all the other teams in it.
In our final games, these are the results YOU have predicted:
Chelsea will beat Ipswich
Chelsea will draw with Fulham
Chelsea will beat Everton
Chelsea will lose to Liverpool
Chelsea will lose to Newcastle
Chelsea will beat Manchester United
Chelsea will draw with Nottingham Forest
Here are MY predictions:
Chelsea will beat Ipswich
Chelsea will draw with Fulham
Chelsea will beat Everton
Chelsea will lose to Liverpool
Chelsea will lose to Newcastle
Chelsea will draw with Manchester United
Chelsea will draw with Nottingham Forest
Let’s see what happens. You know anything can happen in these games and these are just predictions. But so far, we have mainly called them correct.
We will need a lot of luck, but the fact does remain that 5th place at least, is in our hands for now. A big win on Sunday will go a long way in setting up the final fixtures to put our fate in our hands, but the fixtures come in very tough for us.
But we are all very split right now as to whether we will do it or not.
Either way, LET’S GO CHELSEA!!!
