A new member has joined the Gautam Gambhir-headed India National Cricket Team coaching staff ahead of the much-awaited Test tour of England. However, he is not the new face as he had already worked with the team before under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy.

As Gautam Gambhir and the India National Cricket Team embarked on the tough England tour, Adrian Le Roux himself broke the news of joining the team after the IPL 2025, where he was part of the Punjab Kings. He had been working with PBKS for the last six years.

He will now play a vital part in preparing the Indian cricket team physically and mentally for upcoming challenges. Well, this is not the first time he is working with Team India, as he earlier served as their strength and conditioning coach from January 2002 to May 2003 under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy.

Le Roux ended his six-year tenure with the Punjab Kings in the IPL to rejoin the Indian setup. Under his guidance, PBKS showed remarkable improvement in fitness and performance, reaching the final of IPL 2025 before narrowly missing out on their maiden title to RCB on June 3.

Adrian Le Roux says goodbye to Punjab Kings in emotional post

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Le Roux expressed his gratitude to the Punjab Kings owners, players, support staff, and fans. He reflected on the highs and lows of professional sport and highlighted the friendships and moments that made his journey special.

Adrian Le Roux posted on Instagram: “And with that a 6-year journey with the @punjabkingsipl comes to an end. Went all the way to the final this season. Fell just short, and yes, that really hurt. But I’m incredibly proud of the team, the way we prepared, the way we played, and how we fought right to the end.

What a journey it’s been. To the team, owners, management, coaches, players, and my colleagues in the sport science and medical team, a huge thank you! In the fast-moving world of professional sport, it’s easy to get caught up in the results.”

Le Roux is also excited to rejoin India and is ready to take on the next challenge with renewed energy.

He signed off by saying, “As I step into a new role with @indiancricketteam, I’ll carry these memories with me. I’ve had the privilege to work with some incredible people and some of the most talented cricketers in the game. Punjab Kings are in a good place and in good hands. That makes me happy. Until we meet again. 🙌”

Notably, the first test of the upcoming five-match test series between England and India will be held in Leeds from June 20. Shubman Gill will be making his debut as India’s Test captain in Leeds.
