Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, once hailed as one of the greatest champions in the history of his division, has always had a “respectful” relationship with promotion CEO, Dana White.
That’s probably why White forked over the $1 million necessary to get Velasquez out of jail. The one-time luchador was arrested and detained for shooting up a truck that carried alleged child molester, Harry Goularte, back in early 2022.

“I don’t know if he gave out a statement or something beforehand when I was locked up and also he did pay my bail as well,” Velasquez told Basement Talk prior to sentencing. “So they’re helping.”
Velasquez, 42, may need additional help after the courts slapped him with a five-year prison sentence. That’s because the victims of his case (not the “true victims” as Velasquez would argue) are seeking an “exorbitant amount of money” in damages.
Might be time to scale back those Nelk Boys donations.
