The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received official clearance from their government to proceed with their upcoming tour of Pakistan. According to Cricbuzz, the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed that the authorities have granted approval for the upcoming five-match T20I series in Pakistan.
Earlier, Bangladesh had raised concerns due to the tensions between India and Pakistan. Government approval is necessary before confirming the tour, along with consulting the players. Bangladesh are set to play a two-match T20I series against the UAE on May 17 and 19 before the Pakistan series.

According to a Cricbuzz report, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official confirmed that the government has given approval for the team’s upcoming tour of Pakistan. The official letter is still awaited, but the decision to allow the visit has been made in principle.

“We have got the green signal (from the government) though we are yet to receive the official letter which we are expecting sooner than latter but as far as I know government have taken the decision in principle that they will let us visit Pakistan for the upcoming tour,” a BCB official told Cricbuzz on Thursday.

The BCB official stated that once they receive the government’s official approval letter, they will begin discussions with the players. Some players have expressed hesitation about touring Pakistan due to security concerns, and the board assures that no player will be forced to participate.
“After getting the official letter from the government we will start talking with our players as we learnt that some of them are reluctant to travel citing security reason,” he said. “One thing we can assure is that we won’t push anyone.”
Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das recently raised concerns about the upcoming Pakistan tour. He stressed that the decision rests with the cricket board but noted that players are willing to participate if the security situation is satisfactory.
Bangladesh tour of Pakistan schedule
The report added that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent an updated schedule to the Bangladesh Cricket Board on May 13, adjusting the dates for Bangladesh’s upcoming tour due to changes in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) calendar amid India-Pakistan tensions.
The series was originally set to begin on May 25, but will now start on May 27, with the final T20I pushed to June 5. As per the schedule, the first three matches will be played in Faisalabad on May 27, 29, and June 1, while the last two games will be held in Lahore on June 3 and June 5, after the PSL final clash.
