Iga Swiatek wasn't in the mood to talk a lot following a disappointing Rome Open exit and she absolutely didn't sound very confident going into the French Open.

After annihilating Elisabetta Cocciaretto 6-1 6-0 in her opening match at Foro Italico, the Pole returned to her habits from 2025 and lost to Danielle Collins 1-6 5-7.

So far this clay season, Swiatek has played in three tournaments and hasn't won any titles. As you all know, the 23-year-old was an absolute menace on the dirt in the last few seasons.

But heading into this year's French Open, the former world No. 1 is evidently struggling with her game and confidence.

"I'll just try to, you know, as I said, change my mindset a little bit, try to regroup and just focus day by day working," the four-time French Open winner said when asked about her expectations for the second Grand Slam of the year.

Swiatek: I don't care what other people had…

A reporter seemingly tried to encourage the Polish tennis star by telling her: "Other people have had great success at particular Grand Slams. Even if they come into them not playing great, they say they have a certain feeling."

However, it didn't appear to help much.

"I don't care what other people had. There's no point to compare," Swiatek bluntly stated.

Then, the former world No. 1 was asked whether she "gets a certain feeling" when she comes to Roland Garros.

"It doesn't matter what things I get. Every year is different, so… Doesn't matter," she replied.

At Roland Garris, Swiatek owns a stunning 35-2 lifetime record. And those two defeats came very early in her career she was beaten by Simona Halep in the 2019 French Open round-of-16 and also lost to Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinal in 2021.
