Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we highlight the five most essential IU basketball stories of the past week, plus take a look at how the other IU sports programs are doing.

For weeks, it has already been known who would likely be on next season’s basketball roster. However, the team made its personnel official this week.

Besides this, a former Hoosier tipped off play in the NBA finals and Inside the Hall’s offseason at a glance series continued. As usual, we will conclude with weekly shows and a look at other IU sports, including football, which announced single-game ticket sales.

Here is what is in this week’s edition:

• IU men’s basketball announces initial 2025-26 roster• Thomas Bryant and the Indiana Pacers win NBA finals opener• ITH Big Ten offseason at a glance continues• Recruiting updates• Back Home Network shows• Hoosier Roundup

While it was already known who would be playing for IU next season due to media reports, Indiana finally announced its official roster for the upcoming fall. It features 11 scholarship players all with numbers between 0-12.

Outside of two returning walk-ons, it is entirely new personnel. This consists of ten transfers and an incoming freshman. The transfers are expected to make the most impact, as this class ranks tenth nationally according to 247Sports.

Banner #2 – Thomas Bryant and the Indiana Pacers win NBA finals opener

The NBA Finals began this week with significant implications locally. Former Hoosier Thomas Bryant is part of the team that competes in Indiana and is just up the road from Bloomington. While he is the backup center to Myles Turner, he plays a critical role off the bench for the Pacers at times.

Bryant was a contributor in the first game of the series, scoring five points, including a 3-pointer from the corner. He is playing for his second NBA Championship and the Pacers look to deliver the state’s first major basketball title since IU in 1987.

Indiana pulled out a thriller in game one as their star Tyrese Haliburton hit his fourth buzzer-beater of the playoffs for a 1-0 series lead against the favored Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pacers are making their first finals appearance since 2000 and will play game two tonight at 8 pm on ABC.

If they can win three more times, they will raise the Larry O’Brien Trophy as champions. It would be their first title since their ABA days in the 1970s and a breakthrough for NBA supremacy.

On a somewhat related NBA note, departing Hoosier senior Trey Galloway made the news. This is because he has gotten workouts for several NBA teams to try to be on their summer league roster.

Banner #3 – ITH Big Ten offseason at a glance continues

Inside the Hall continued its series, looking at each Big Ten squad in detail. This week featured a breakdown of Penn State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Washington, Oregon, Nebraska, and Maryland.

Banner #4 – Recruiting updates

Highlight videos for several Hoosier recruiting targets have been released. This week’s releases were those of 2026’s Davion Adkins, Ethan Taylor, Jordan Smith, Caleb Gaskins, Cole Cloer, and Cameron Williams.

This was not the only information when it came to recruiting. New head coach Darian DeVries met with the media at the Huber’s Event recently to discuss this topic amongst other things.

Banner #5 – Back Home Network shows

The Back Home Network was also on air multiple times this week. Crimson Cast, Doing The Work, and Xs and Joes all had shows over the last few days.

Banner #6 – Hoosier Roundup

• Football announced the date for single-game sales as well as some other ticket information.

• Women’s basketball had their most hyped incoming transfer Zania Socka-Nguemen be invited to participate in the U19 National Team Trials.

• Baseball had a Scholar-Athlete of the Month and two players named all-district. Also, a potential incoming recruit was named Gatorade Player of the Year.

• Volleyball released ticket information and also had a Scholar-Athlete of the Month. Finally, information about Big Ten Media Day for the sport was announced.

• Three wrestlers were named All-Americans at the U23 Nationals and the team was ranked 15th in attendance this past season.

• The women’s tennis incoming recruiting class is ranked tenth nationally.

• Water polo had two All-Americans.

• Rowing finished 14th at the NCAA Championships and had a First-Team All-American.

Thanks for your continued support of The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall. We’ll be back next weekend with a new roundup.

Now go enjoy yourself a 6-banner Sunday.
