As the golfing world begins to look ahead to the 2026 season, all eyes will be on the four men’s major championships — the Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and The Open — which continue to define careers, cement legacies, and thrill fans around the globe.

Each tournament in 2026 returns to a revered venue that has hosted unforgettable moments in the past and is sure to deliver more drama next season.

THE MASTERS

Augusta National Golf Club (April 9–12, 2026)

The 2026 major calendar will, as always, tee off at Augusta National in Georgia, home of the Masters Tournament.

This iconic course, with its blooming azaleas and lightning-fast greens, remains unchanged in its mystique and challenge.

With its narrow fairways and emphasis on precision iron play and putting, Augusta continues to favour those with elite short games.

Last year’s Masters saw a tightly contested battle, and 2026 should be no different.

The likes of Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, and 2025 winner Rory McIlroy will be eyeing the green jacket, with McIlroy still searching for the final piece in his career Grand Slam puzzle.

Of course, you can already place your early bets on the Masters champion, with GGBet offering strong odds on the usual favourites and a few rising stars.

PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

Aronimink Golf Club (May 14–17, 2026)

Next up is the PGA Championship, returning to Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. The Donald Ross-designed gem last hosted a major in 1962, but more recently it staged the 2010 and 2011 AT&T National and the 2018 BMW Championship.

It is a classic layout that demands accuracy, creativity, and mental toughness.

As the only major organized by professionals for professionals, the PGA Championship often delivers a diverse leaderboard, with players from both the PGA and DP World Tours in contention.

Expect strong showings from American powerhouses like Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele, alongside European hopefuls like Viktor Hovland.

Aronimink’s tight corridors and multi-tiered greens make it an ideal test to separate the great from the good.

U.S OPEN

Shinnecock Hills Golf Club (June 18–21, 2026)

In June, the U.S. Open returns to one of its most storied and challenging venues — Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, New York.

A founding member of the USGA and a past host of five U.S. Opens, including the unforgettable 2004 and controversial 2018 editions, Shinnecock is a stern, wind-blown links-style test that punishes the slightest misstep.

Known for its narrow fairways, thick fescue rough, and severely sloped greens, Shinnecock demands a complete game.

It’s the ultimate test of patience and precision. Brooks Koepka famously triumphed here in 2018, and players with experience and mental fortitude — such as Koepka, Matt Fitzpatrick, or Patrick Cantlay — could thrive again.

If you’re betting on the toughest major of the year, the U.S. Open often offers the best odds for an underdog story.

THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Royal Birkdale Golf Club (July 16–19, 2026)

The final men’s major of the year heads to England’s northwest coast as Royal Birkdale hosts The Open for the 11th time. This Southport links has produced an illustrious list of champions including Peter Thomson, Lee Trevino, Johnny Miller, and more recently, Jordan Spieth in 2017.

Royal Birkdale is considered one of the fairest and most picturesque Open venues, with rolling dunes, coastal winds, and deep bunkers shaping the strategy on every hole.

The field will need creativity and control to battle the elements. British stars like Tommy Fleetwood, who grew up near Birkdale, and Matt Fitzpatrick will relish the chance to win in front of a home crowd. Spieth, too, may see this as his best shot at another Claret Jug.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

The 2026 major season promises another year of thrilling narratives, breakthrough performances, and championship golf at some of the game’s greatest venues.

Whether you’re tracking the favourites or backing an outsider, each major offers not just iconic competition but also the perfect opportunity for fans to get involved with a flutter.

From Augusta’s blooming greens to Birkdale’s rugged coast, the chase for major glory in 2026 will be unforgettable.
